Workplace Emergency Response (Warden) Training

Duration: 2 hours
Maximum Participants: 15
Cost: $605.00

This course is designed for employee's assigned warden duties within their workplace. The course has been developed to meet Australian Standard 3745 - 2002 Emergency control organization for buildings, structures and workplaces and Australian Standard 4083 - 1997 Emergency response for health care facilities. An appropriate internal area is required for training.

Fire Fighting Equipment

Duration: 1 hour
Maximum Participants: 15
Cost: $330.00

This course provides participants with practical experience in using basic fire fighting equipment. It covers the selection and use of First Attack fire fighting equipment, including fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

This course covers:

Instruction and practical experience in the use of:

  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Fire Blankets
  • (Hose Reels)

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify different types of fire
  • Identify appropriate fire fighting equipment for each type of fire
  • Identify limitations of first attack fire fighting equipment
  • Display and describe the techniques required to use fire extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels
  • Identify specific dangers associated with fighting fire

A Certificate of Attendance is issued following completion of the course.

Chief Warden

Duration: 8 Hours
Maximum Participants: 15
Cost: $1210.00

This course provides participants with detailed information to enable them to perform the role of Chief Warden, or Deputy Chief Warden. Participants should have completed Warden training in the preceding two years.

This course covers:
Instruction and practical experience in the use of:

  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Fire Blankets
  • (Hose Reels)

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the relevant legislation and standards
  • Identify appropriate management for a range of emergencies
  • Develop a risk assessment for their workplace
  • Describe strategies for preventing emergencies
  • Identify and describe requirements for Essential Services (building safety features)
  • Plan for business continuity and recovery from an emergency
  • A Certificate of Attendance is issued following completion of the course.

Evacuation Exercise

Duration: 1 hour
Cost: $242.00 <50 people $143.00 per additional 50

As per AS 3745 - 2002, annual evacuation exercises should be conducted in all workplaces. Specialists On Safety facilitate your evacuation exercise (drill), including pre-exercise briefing and post-exercise debrief.

We set a scenario and observe Warden and Staff responses, ensuring compliance with your organizational Emergency Response Procedures.

A written report based on our observations and an attendance record is also provided. This can be used for compliance with AS1851.19 - 2005 Maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment.

Essential Building Services

Duration: 1 hour
Maximum Participants: 15
Cost: $242.00

This course provides participants with practical information regarding the Building Code of Australia, Building Regulations and Australian Standards. Participants will be able to identify the building Essential Services (safety features), who is responsible for maintaining them, how their maintenance should be managed and what records need to be maintained.

This course covers:
Instruction and practical experience in the use of:

  • Legislation and Standards
  • Responsibility
  • Records
  • Enforcement

Course Objectives:
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify different Essential Services
  • Describe reasons for installation of Essential Services
  • Describe who is responsible for maintaining Essential Services
  • Describe how Essential Service maintenance can be managed
  • A Certificate of Attendance is issued following completion of the course.
